Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Loved the warm food made from beans and their homemade bread(not pictured), however the slow cooked braised beef, was very salty and could not eat it."
"Had a great experience at Desaga! The food was really tasty, and the menu offers a big variety—there’s something for everyone. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. There are loads of tables, so you rarely have to wait for a spot, and in the summer, the terrace is a great bonus. Even if you are planning eating out with a larger group Desaga is a good spot to do so as they offer large tables up to 18 people in the attic. It gets lively on the weekends, which adds to the overall cosy atmosphere. Plenty of parking spaces on the main street just in front of the restaurant. However, I recommend booking a table in advance. Definitely worth a visit! Very pleasant experience!"
"Although I had planned to come earlier, I only managed to visit now, and I can say the experience was very pleasant. The menu is quite extensive, with prices slightly above average, but the portions are generous and very tasty. The fries seemed freshly made, and the meat is advertised as their own premium brand. The terrace is spacious, and there are plenty of seats inside as well, but it can get quite crowded, so making a reservation in advance might be a good idea. I confidently recommend this place."
"Really nice spot with a wide variety of dishes, borrowing from Romanian, Hungarian, and international cuisine. It’s in a great location right by the river, and you can take a relaxing walk along the riverside before or after your meal. The food is good overall, though the homemade sausages were a bit different from what I expected — they’re more like thin kabanos rather than the big, hearty sausages you’d imagine at a proper roadside inn. This is why this is a 4 overall and not a 5. The atmosphere is pleasant, the prices are fair, and overall it’s a nice place to enjoy a casual meal. It's a thumbs up from me, and I'd happily eat here again (though not homemade sausages)"
"A great place with authentic cuisine! Perfect for lively groups who want to try something truly Romanian. The meat was cooked to perfection, the mamaliga was superb, and the papanasi looked wonderfully authentic. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a genuine taste of Romania in a warm and vibrant atmosphere."
"Very good place with very good service, atmosphere and panoramic view. But unfortunately couldn’t find any fish in menu. At least two types of fish could be nice to have for people who don’t eat meat"
"Great location with delicious food and friendly staff. We’ve already eaten here a few times, and I can say it’s always lovely and tasty. The terrace is a beautiful spot as well. It’s definitely worth trying De Saga restaurant."
"Lovely evening with traditional food, grandma style - and surprisingly delicious, having such high benchmarks! Funny and ample menu - tough choices… Attentive, friendly and prompt service. A spacious and nicely designed space (indoors and outdoors) well suited for 2 friends or very large groups as well. And: DOG friendly. Surely will be back!"
